Elevate and Celebrate: Women in Governance (WiG) 2025 Annual Recognition Gala in Toronto

Get ready for an unforgettable evening as we roll out the red carpet to celebrate 15 years of Women in Governance and the 14th edition of our Annual Recognition Gala. This event is more than just a gala; it’s a powerful commitment to showcasing the tangible impact of efforts to promote gender equality in the workplace.

Presented by Securian Canada and co-chaired by Emily Heitman, President of Schneider Electric Canada and Scott Wood, President and CEO of Fairstone Bank of Canada, this event promises to be a remarkable gathering of leadership and inspiration.

This prestigious evening will bring together Canada’s top executive leaders to shine the spotlight on the close to 100 renowned organizations that achieved the Bronze to Platinum levels of WiG’s Parity Certification™, along with its certification partners Accenture, Mercer et WTW. Together we will celebrate their outstanding commitment to gender equity, diversity, and inclusion.

Join us for this luminous gathering: your support is the beacon that guides us forward. We are looking forward to seeing you to pay tribute to the certified organization’s leaders who are redefining a more inclusive corporate landscape.

About the Parity Certification™

Launched in 2017 and the first of its kind in North America, the Parity Certification™ aims to help organizations increase the representation of women, especially in sectors where they have been historically underrepresented and in senior leadership roles. Accenture, Mercer, and WTW support La Gouvernance au Féminin in evaluating applications.

This robust tool not only focuses on gender parity within decision-making bodies but also ensures the implementation of mechanisms to help women at all organizational levels advance their careers, thereby creating a pipeline of female talent. Special attention is given to intersectionality to ensure that women of color, Indigenous women, LGBTQ2S+ women, and women with disabilities are equally supported.

To date, over 1,000,000 employees work for organizations that have received the Parity Certification™ across Canada and the United States.
