Montréal, Québec — (May 14, 2020) After having certified some of the most prestigious national and international organizations in Canada, Women in Governance (WiG) is now offering its Parity Certification in the United States. WiG’s Parity Certification was developed with the pro-bono support of McKinsey&Company in order to help organizations increase the representation of women in sectors where they have historically been underrepresented, as well as in executive leadership positions.

WiG is a recognized global leader in the gender parity space whose assessment and analytical tools are instrumental in closing the gender gap in the workplace. WiG provides a robust assessment process and proven enablement tools, including customized support to help address gap areas, so organizations can make meaningful progress towards gender parity.

The Parity Certification not only evaluates parity at the decision-making level of an organization but also assesses the organization’s commitment to the implementation of mechanisms that enable women at all levels of its hierarchy to achieve career advancement, thus creating a pipeline of female talent. Over the past ten years, Women in Governance has concretely helped move the needle towards gender parity in Canada and has vastly contributed to Canada’s world-leading position in gender parity.

“Congratulations to Parity certified organizations for everything you do to support women’s leadership. Each and every one of you brings important contributions to making gender equality a reality, not only in the business world, but in the entire society.” – Justin Trudeau, Prime Minister of Canada

Gender parity in governance is critical to any organization that wants to be at the top of its game and to the functioning of a fair and just society. While we, at Norton Rose Fulbright will accept this recognition with pride, we sincerely hope that what today is considered a platinum level effort will tomorrow be viewed as absolute base line.” – Terry Dobbin, Managing Partner, Toronto Office, Senior Partner, Norton Rose Fulbright

“The impact of the Parity Certification on Accenture has been profound and really remains a beacon for us. With 500,000 employees globally, we have an ambitious goal of 50% gender equality by 2025. The Parity Certification helps validate that we have the right strategy, policies and governance in place. Also, that we have the right operational metrics and rigour to see where we are and what we need to change to exceed that goal by 2025.”- David Morgenstern, Managing Director, Products Lead in Canada, Accenture
